The Importance of a Consultation.
Don’t just click and order a part without talking to an expert…you may regret it.Have you ever bought a part for your car and, later, you were like, ‘Man, what was I thinking?’ It was too big, too loud, too something. I know, I’ve been there. You get that bright, shiny, new car (or new to you, that’s still okay too!) in your driveway, and it’s like Christmas. What can I buy to make it go faster? Better tires, better brakes, maybe a supercharger? You need to know what you want — like how you’ll be driving it and how much you’ll be driving it.
One of the most important items on our event survey is where we ask ‘Daily Driver, Weekend Warrior, or Race Car?’ You know those guys that come up and tell you, ‘I’ve got an exhaust, a blower, and tuned to the max; I’ve got 500hp to the GROUND.’ Then you ask, ‘So what kind of rods/crank did you put in it? What kind of brakes and suspension?’ And they look like a deer caught in the headlights because they didn’t know you needed to build up the car and not just make what you see pretty. If you don’t build on a good foundation, the car is not going to do what you need it or want it to do, or it’ll break your first time out. This is where a good consultation proves important, something often skipped when starting a project.
We’ll tell you everything you should do, and in what order you should do it. And also what you really shouldn’t. Like the time a guy sold me on a 700cfm carb on a car that really only needed a 475-500cfm. It was a waste of my time and money, and if you’re like me, both of those are in short supply. Don’t just click and order. Stop spending money on parts you’ll just end up taking off to do another mod, or parts that don’t make any REAL power, or parts that end up causing you a headache in the end.
We highly recommend you do a consultation with us; we will save you money by planning out logical steps to save labor costs, and honestly tell you what you should or shouldn’t spend your hard-earned money on. It’s as easy as making an appointment and consulting with a knowledgeable and experienced team member to get your project started off right. 281 Motorsports won’t steer you wrong.
